25+ Years in Business, One Book in the Making!
After more than 25 years of building businesses, learning from brilliant minds, navigating both successes and setbacks, and continuously evolving as an entrepreneur, I’m taking on a new challenge—writing a book!
But this won’t be a traditional business book packed with jargon or dry theories. Instead, it will be a personal and practical reflection on the realities of entrepreneurship—the ideas that sparked businesses, the lessons learned through experience, and the insights gained from both the wins and the failures. It will be about resilience, reinvention, and the decisions (big and small) that shape an entrepreneurial journey.
Lifelong learning has been at the heart of everything I’ve done. From starting my first business at 21 to growing and evolving my company today, I’ve always believed that sharing knowledge helps everyone move forward. A conversation with a mentor, a book that shifts your perspective, or a talk that sparks a new idea—learning comes in many forms. This book will be my way of capturing and sharing the key insights from my journey—along with wisdom from the many incredible entrepreneurs, business leaders, and innovators I’ve worked with and learned from over the years.
Books have been a huge part of my entrepreneurial education. Some have been predictable favourites, others unexpected sources of inspiration, but all have shaped my thinking in different ways. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey, and Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl offered deep insights into purpose and mindset. Crowning the Customer by Fergal Quinn and Business Model Generation helped me refine how I approach business strategy, while classics like The Art of Public Speaking, How to Win Friends & Influence People, and Atomic Habits provided invaluable tools for communication and growth.
Then there are books like The Game of Life & How to Play It and A New Earth, which offered a new way to look at old challenges—often in ways just as relevant to business as they are to life. A single line from a book, a TED Talk, or even a Blinkist summary can sometimes be the spark that changes everything—and that’s the kind of insight I hope to share in this book.
As I embark on this writing journey, I’ll be reaching out to my network—gathering experiences, lessons, and the best advice from those who have launched something of their own, whether it’s a business, a social enterprise, or a bold new idea. If that’s you, I’d love to hear from you.
With 50 on the horizon, this feels like the right time to put it all into words. The challenges, the triumphs, the pivots, and the moments of pure determination—it’s all part of the story.
Stay tuned for more updates as this journey unfolds! And if you have insights to share, reach out—because this book, much like entrepreneurship itself, will be about learning and growing together.
